Conflict Management Support

  • Are you concerned about what seems to be an escalation of violence in our world? Would you like to help build a world without war?
  • Are you concerned about violence in our communities, in our workplaces, in our streets, in our schools? Would you like to help identify the circumstances that lead up to such violence and prevent it?
  • Are you concerned about domestic violence in the home? Would you like to help understand and mitigate this cycle of violence?

As a Volunteer, you will become part of a diverse group concerned about the proliferation of violence in our society - a group motivated to become part of the solution.

If you are willing to take a proactive, constructive approach to this debilitating behavior that persists in our personal lives and around the world, then your thoughts and your energy can contribute in a collaborative effort to develop effective alternatives to violence.

We ask only that you leave your "anti" thoughts outside our front door. We ask that you enter with a desire to help develop and promote effective alternatives to violence.

The abolition of war does not require anti-war, anti-military lobbies or demonstrations and protests, but the development of effective nonviolent alternatives to military struggle. - Gene Sharp.

Those assembled in our organization are not anti-police or anti-military. As an organization, our energy will not be spent on protesting. The time for protesting is behind us. It is now appropriate to look forward and help develop effective alternatives to violence.

We recognize there is no single answer to this complex issue and that different cultures will have different perspectives as well as different nonviolent methods of dealing with conflict. Nevertheless, we agree to work together to develop, demonstrate, and promote constructive ideas and tools that deal with conflict before it escalates to violence. [More...]
