• In complex conflict situations, tools are needed to help describe, analyze, assess,and understand a conflict situation before attempting to "manage" that conflict.
• Researchers havedeveloped a number of such tools often referred to as "Conflict Maps."
• These "Conflict Mapping" tools can serve as a checklist to help us consider all the key facets of a conflict before proposing a "conflict invention" or peacemaking action plan.
